Producing Videos
One of the first things that was done was to produce an overview video for Bliss Salon and Spa. We wanted to get out what our unique positioning statement was, as well as to give someone the feel that they were taking a tour through Bliss’s salon and spa areas. Additional videos were made to highlight various parts of the salon services.
New Website
One of Bethany’s goals was to have a more functioning website. We both felt that the current site, while very appealing to look at, was basically not doing anything at all for her business.
We created a new site that gave some information, included a blog for communications, and also included a means by which new customers could download a coupon to give Bliss a try.
Google Business Listing
One of the most important things that we did was to upgrade the Google Business Listing. Countless directories were notified of Bliss and we started a campaign for customers to put in a review to her listing on Google. We are still constantly working on ways to improve her rankings through building up of “citations”. Citations are merely a website that mentions a businesses name and that is then “indexed” or found by Google. It’s a very slow and time consuming proposition, but very important.
One of the things that we noticed was that there were many directories that had an incorrect address for Bliss Salon. This really posed a huge problem in that the addresses for all directories must be the same as well as the business name and phone number. If not, rankings will suffer. And they did. It took countless hours manually correcting numerous local directories – many are still in the works of correcting.
Numerous Other Web 2.0 Properties
A campaign was set for many press releases, articles, blog posts. Again, a very long and tedious process. Many hours were dedicated to building up various blogs optimized for major keyword phrases.
